The viewer is put in more of a power position when it comes to consuming media, though, is not the only way that things have changed drastically over the last ten years or so. But at least if I ever do have to wait for a new episode to come out, there is a nearly infinite well of other incredible shows and movies to choose from that can tide me over while I wait. Who wants to have to wait around for every new episode of their favorite show to be broadcast? I mean, okay, sure, this is still the case for some shows that are on certain networks that refuse to let go of the ghost of traditional cable. I, of course, can only speak for myself, but I hardly doubt that I am alone in rejoicing at this fact. Thanks to the rise of streaming sites and apps, we now watch whatever we want, whenever, wherever, and however we want to. Nowadays, the viewer is more in control than ever. We are no longer under the thumb of big cable news networks and film studios when it comes to how or when we consume media. We no longer need to go to the cinema every time that a new movie comes out. We no longer, for example, have to wait around for weeks at a time to see a new episode of our favorite shows. In just 15 or 20 short years, the whole game has changed. So much has changed over the course of the last decade or so when it comes to how, where, and when we are able to watch our favorite movies and TV shows. ![]()
